SFPRA welcomes Denise Aguilar and Tara Thorton who are not only human civil rights activists but also do political strategizing against extremism. Denise is President of San Joaquin County Coalition and also founded the preparedness organization Mamalitia. Tara is the founder of the Phoenix Society.

Denise and Tara have fought against bills such as SB276 in 2019, and AB2098 and SB866 this past legislative season. SB866 was put in the inactive file due to Denise and Tara's wonderful legislative work this past legislative season of 2022.
